Rotary Club of West El Paso

Please join us this Monday (Oct. 22, 2018) at the meeting of the Rotary Club of West El Paso. Carey & Doug will be presenting details and photos of their recent West El Paso Rotary Club mission trip to Bolivia where they participated in the Empowering Women Project, a Rotary global grant administered & coordinated by the Hobbs/Lovington Rotary Clubs in District 5520. Working in conjunction with United4Change, a non-profit organization that creates opportunities for vulnerable populations, especially women through improved literacy, better access to healthcare and economic empowerment; a team of 14 people from the US & Bolivia came together to see and learn about Bolivia, its people and culture, up close and personal. This project is one of many international work projects that members of the Rotary Club of West El Paso have participated in since 2010.

This mission has inspired Doug & I to invest our time, money and talent to understand the ongoing daily life challenges experienced by the Bolivian indigenous people, especially women and children. It was an opportunity for all of us on the team to prove that Rotary's motto of Service Above Self are more than words. The mission of this team says a lot: There is hope for the world. We can all make a positive difference for humanity. Best of all - it was fun!

Join us on Monday at noon at the Great American Steakburger - 701 S Mesa Hills Dr., El Paso, TX 79912
See you there,
Carey Beamesderfer & Doug Borrett
